La pandemia provocó que un millón y medio de personas pierdan el empleo

Trujillo, 23 de noviembre de 2021. “Falta recuperar más de un millón y medio de personas que han perdido el empleo adecuado durante el 2020, año de la pandemia. Esto significa un 13 % de pérdida de trabajo formal e informal con respecto al 2019. En trabajo formal la tasa salarial ha crecido un 6 % a octubre, pero en términos nominales la influencia de la inflación es muy importante. En general tenemos menor salario y los productos que hay que comprar son más caros”, dijo Diego Macera Poli, director del BCRP y gerente general del Instituto Peruano de Economía, durante su exposición sobre el “Panorama económico mundial”.
El economista aplaudió que la zona norte haya liderado la recuperación económica del país en niveles de producción durante el segundo trimestre de 2021 con respecto al 2019. Las regiones que destacaron fueron La Libertad y Lambayeque, seguidas por Amazonas y Piura, mientras que Cajamarca y Tumbes tienen menores niveles de producción.
Al respecto, el vocero técnico del evento y presidente del Instituto Economía y Empresa, Francisco Huertas Benites señaló que “si bien la economía está recuperando sus niveles de prepandemia (PBI, consumo de energía, consumo de cemento), hay actividades que aún están retrasadas (turismo, alojamiento) así como el empleo que aún no alcanza su nivel prepandemia, incluso ha perdido calidad (se ha precarizado)”.
Previamente a la conferencia de Diego Macera, tuvo lugar la exposición de Javier Beverinotti, economista país del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, quien explicó que el mal manejo de la pandemia COVID-19 y las limitaciones estructurales dejarán un lastre muy importante en Perú y los demás países de la región. “Las tensiones sociales solían surgir por factores sociales, pero las restricciones sanitarias han incorporado nuevos episodios que han aumentado las desigualdades en esta parte del continente”, anotó.
Cabe mencionar que, durante la inauguración del Encuentro Empresarial del Norte, el presidente de la Cámara de Comercio de La Libertad, Guillermo Benavides Zavaleta, destacó el título del evento: Resiliencia para retomar la senda del desarrollo, “porque consideramos que como resultado de la crisis económica, social, la pandemia, y la inestabilidad política que nos afecta, la resiliencia ha permitido que los empresarios y emprendedores nos adaptemos a la nueva normalidad gracias al esfuerzo de miles que trabajadores que se han puesto de pie para retomar el desarrollo”, dijo.
El presidente de la Confiep, Óscar Caipo Ricci, quien compartió la mesa de honor con Carlos Vílchez Pella, presidente de la Comisión de eventos de la CCLL, saludó poner a la ‘resiliencia’ como centro del debate porque permitirá mayor bienestar social y crecimiento económico inclusivo. “Valoramos el rol del empresario y los trabajadores construyendo patria con fe en todas las regiones del país”, anotó.
