La pandemia incrementó dos millones de pobres y las brechas sociales en el país
En el segundo día del 33. ° Encuentro Empresarial del Norte, reconocidos especialistas económicos analizaron la situación post pandemia y la fortaleza de la economía peruana. Víctor Fuentes Campos, economista jefe del Instituto Peruano de Economía (IPE) disertó sobre las políticas clave para reducir las brechas sociales e impulsar el crecimiento del Perú en los próximos años.
La pobreza incrementó
En su análisis indicó que la pandemia dejó grandes brechas en el sector salud, educación y económico que el Estado, a través de las nuevas autoridades electas deben priorizar para reducirlas y fortalecer la estrategia de focalización para mejorar esta situación.
“La pandemia nos ha dado un golpe durísimo, tenemos más pobreza, hoy tenemos dos millones de pobres en exceso comparado con los niveles pre pandemia principalmente focalizada en el área urbana, tenemos pérdidas de aprendizaje y deserción escolar que debemos atender, inseguridad alimentaria. Después de la pandemia tuvimos un conflicto internacional entre Rusia y Ucrania que ha golpeado significativamente la producción agrícola y también tenemos un problema de brechas sociales en educación que si no lo atendemos ahora, va a generar problemas significativos en la productividad futura del país”, señaló.
Tras su disertación participaron como panelistas y analizaron el tema con propuestas Federico Arnillas Lafert, presidente de la Mesa de Concertación para la Lucha contra la Pobreza (MCLCP)y Pablo Secada Elguera, CEO & Founding Partner Opportunity Investments.
Inversión privada
Por la tarde, Daniel Barco Rondán, economista país senior del Banco Mundial durante la conferencia “La inversión privada como agente de desarrollo: desafíos y oportunidades para el crecimiento de la macrorregión norte y del país” indicó que la economía peruana es una economía de crecimiento que no colapsa tan fácilmente porque tiene algunas fortalezas que la respaldan, pero es necesario la estabilidad del Gobierno para que siga creciendo.
“El Perú necesita pasar de la resiliencia a la prosperidad sostenida e inclusiva. La evidencia internacional, según los estudios del Banco Mundial, afirma que desde 1950 solo 13 economías han logrado crecer sostenidamente hasta la fecha con crecimiento sostenido e inclusivo. Los ingredientes para este crecimiento son la apertura para importar, exportar y financiamiento internacional; estabilidad macroeconómica e inflación moderada; alta inversión y ahorro; que el mercado funcione con pocas regulaciones y que exista liderazgo por parte del Gobierno”, señaló.
Al respecto, Francisco Huertas, aliado técnico del más importante evento empresarial del norte señaló que “es necesario tener un régimen de protección social eficiente y eficaz, que minimice las filtraciones y perforaciones. Es necesario para ello reformar el actual, y que en el tiempo vaya disminuyendo su ámbito de intervención, vinculado a los productos y resultados esperados de su intervención”.
Agregó que se debe tener presente que la mejor forma de atacar la pobreza es con mayor crecimiento económico de manera sostenida. “La evidencia señala que la pobreza se logró reducir de casi 60% el 2004 al 20% el 2019, y ello es por el apreciable crecimiento económico registrado”, puntualizó el economista trujillano.
La Cámara de Comercio de La Libertad continuará promoviendo espacios como este para analizar las brechas existentes, plantear propuestas de política económica y social coherentes, promover la inversión privada y el desarrollo económico sostenible.
